Title
Quantum-Coherent Nanomechanical Resonators in the Spotlight
Abstract
Nanomechanical resonators respond strongly to weak forces of whichever origin. This renders them versatile transducers for physical systems such as spins, radio waves and light. Exploiting phononic engineering, we develop resonators with extreme coherence (Q>10^8) otherwise only available in particle traps. This allows us to explore the quantum regime of such coupled systems, including quantum correlations in multimode optomechanical settings.
