Primordial Gravitational Waves
Abstract
Inflation is the most compelling scenario for the primordial cosmological evolution. It predicts that the universe is filled with a background of relic gravitational waves. There is an on-going huge experimental effort to detect these waves in the polarisation of the Cosmic Microwave Background. I will explain the robustness of this prediction and make some educated guess about the size of the expected signal.
