Title
SwissFEL - a movie camera for ultrafast dynamics in highly excited matter on the nanoscale
Abstract
The extremely bright and short X-ray flashes from X-ray Free-Electron Lasers have opened up unprecedented experimental possibilities. With single-particle Coherent Diffraction Imaging, a free-standing nanometer-sized structure can be flash-imaged, allowing to resolve structural and even electronic processes with extreme resolution in time and space. In my talk, I will introduce the basic principles of this approach and show its power using our recent results on laser-driven phase transitions in silver nanocubes.
