Anthropocene: The Closing Doors of Climate Targets
Abstract
The latest assessment Climate Change 2013 - The Physical Science Basis concludes - Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and the human influence is clear. Worldwide warming, melting of ice sheets, sea level rise, and many other changes define a new geological epoch: “The Anthropocene”. Limiting climate change requires substantial and sustained reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Coupled climate-carbon cycle model simulations inform us whether climate change can be limited and what options are still available.
