Optical Frequency Combs and Quantum Metrology
Abstract
The optical frequency comb enables the most accurate physical measurement of any type - frequency ratios of quantized atomic states. Despite this close connection to quantum systems, measurement limits with frequency combs are undefined. I will discuss our effort to define the quantum limits of frequency comb interferometry and the impact for applications in spectroscopy, precise timing, and long-baseline interferometry.
