Title
Synthetic Topology: From Photons To Quantum Simulators
Abstract
I discuss how photonic structures can simulate the topological physics of electronic systems and go beyond. Now topological photonics is considered as a potential design principle for future optoelectronic devices. Moreover, motivated by advances in quantum simulators, I describe how non-trivial topologies can be created in post-processing, and provide an alternative to the linear-response paradigm for diagnosing topological orders.
