Title
Interferometry in a Strong Light
Abstract
Quantum limits to continuous position detection in sensitive interferometers have been contemplated for decades, and played a formative role in quantum optics. However, they have been elusive in real interferometers where practical limits are typically technical in nature. In this talk, I present experiments in which an interferometer is driven strongly enough to induce noticeable quantum measurement backaction. In this strong-light limit, we can also use interferometers as a nonlinear medium to manipulate light.
