Superconductivity in Infinite Layer Nickelates

Abstract

We present how soft chemistry approaches can be used to synthesize superconducting infinite layer nickelates – crystal structures composed of twodimensional NiO2 planes. In addition to general interest in superconductivity arising from strong electron correlations, an important question is the relationship to the cuprates, which have common aspects in their atomic and electronic structure.
