Title
Molecular Simulations of Membrane Sensing and Remodeling
Abstract
Living cells need to exert tight control over their lipid membranes to maintain their internal structure and to ensure key cellular functions. In my talk, I will explore the remarkably simple physical principles exploited by complex cellular machineries to sense the membrane fluidity and phase, and to shape and maintain the complex membrane structures of organelles such as the endoplasmic reticulum or the autophagosome.
