Title
Performance and Results of the LHCb Experiment at Cern
Abstract
The LHCb experiment consists of a very precise magnetic dipole spectrometer installed in the forward beam direction at an LHC interaction point. In addition it is equipped with particle identification detectors. The design was optimized to study CP violation and very rare decays of mesons containing bottom quarks. This talk will cover operational and performance aspects of the detectors and will discuss some selected results both on B meson decays and on more general studies of electroweak production in pp interaction.
