Title
Free-Electron Laser – Opportunities for Ultrafast Science with X-Rays
Abstract
High repetition rate free-electron lasers based on superconducting linear accelerators such as FLASH at DESY in Hamburg are ideally suited to extend the well-established electron spectroscopy techniques for the investigation of the static electronic structure of matter to probing the evolution of the electronic structure after controlled excitation in the time domain. In the talk I will review examples from different scientific areas.
