Title
Search for Dark Matter: Cutting-Edge Science from Deep Holes in the Ground
Abstract
The majority of our Universe comprises some, as-yet, unknown form known as dark matter. The direct search for this dark matter in our Galaxy requires the ultra-quiet radiation environment afforded by deep underground research facilities. This talk will review the requirements for direct searches for dark matter, provide an overview of current status and future prospects, and review additional research underway within deep underground facilities.
