A taste of Flavour Physics

Abstract

Under the term «Flavour Physics» lies the study of the different types, or flavours, of quarks and leptons and their transformations under the weak interaction. After a concise overview of the Standard Model of Particle Physics and the distinctive features of weak processes, the talk will outline how flavour phenomena are investigated expe-rimentally, highlighting the current status of the field and possible future directions.Particular emphasis will be placed on the LHCb experi-ment, to which I am currently contributing
