Title
Crossing Disciplines with Ion Beam Physics: From Solar Activity to Climate and Materials Science
Abstract
The ETH Zurich Laboratory of Ion Beam Physics (LIP) is leading global advances in accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) instrumentation and ion-beam techniques. Its systems provide efficient, near-background-free measurement of rare radionuclides, enabling cross-disciplinary applications spanning from solar activity reconstructions, climate studies and environmental tracing to geology and modern materials science. This talk gives an overview about recent and ongoing instrumental developments at LIP and related applications.
