Robust Microcombs Based on Laser Cavity Solitons

Abstract

Microcombs are exciting, miniature optical sources representing a key building block for future portable atomic clocks. Making them practical and robust is essential to build ultraprecise timing devices that work in real-world settings.In my talk, I’ll present the physics behind our microresonator-filtered microcomb laser that recently withstood a full-day public operation at the UK National Quantum Technologies Showcase in London.
