Title
Exploring New Frontiers in Quantum Optical Science
Abstract
We will discuss recent developments at a new scientific interface between quantum optics, many-body physics and quantum information science. Examples include quantum control of large arrays of individually trapped, cold neutral atoms excited to realize programmable Ising-type quantum spin models and coherent manipulation of strongly interacting atom-like impurities in the solid-state to probe novel quantum phases of matter away from equilibrium.
