Title
Laser-Compton Gamma-Rays and the Dawn of Nuclear Photonics
Abstract
Above 2 MeV, the peak brilliance of laser-Compton light sources can exceed that of world’s largest synchrotrons by more than 15 orders of magnitude and enable for the first time the efficient pursuit of nuclear science and applications with photon beams, i.e. Nuclear Photonics. This presentation will review the design and optimization of laser-Compton gamma-ray systems and the novel isotope-specific science and applications enabled by them.
